Since we are in the middle of a small heat wave in Boston, I decided to try my luck in a Kayak this week and explore Winthrop Harbor.  I’ve always been used to being a few feet off the water and moving a bit faster in a sail boat, so the kayak was quite the change for me.  But Winthrop, MA is a great place to explore by paddle.  There is Snake Island, which is a bird sanctuary and even Belle Isle Marsh which is full of wild life.  So if you are looking for a place to give your Codfish Gear a work out, try spending some time in Winthrop Harbor.  You may even see a few of the enormous steel birds darting past.
