This weekend was the World Football Challenge at Gilette Stadium, and two of the biggest rivals in world soccer, Inter Milan and AC Milan, where
there to battle. These two teams are like the Red Sox and Yankees in terms of their rivalry. It turned out to be a beautiful day with the right team on top. Inter scored within the first 5 minutes and never looked back. In the end, Inter prevailed 2-0. It was great to see my team win and we where both happy to have a Cod on Our Bod to keep the sun out of our faces. There are more pictures on our Facebook fan page. The Captain put a Cod on his Bod!
This weekend was the sailing event of the year in Boston Harbor. The tall ships were in town, and people were out in force with there Codfish Gear. Here is a pic of one captain sporting his Cod Cap and blue Simply Cod t-shirt and

another with some fans taking in the view. This group of yacht admirers aboard the Blue Blazer actually came from all over to see these ships, including Los Angeles, California, Connecticut, Minnesota and even Japan. Departing from the Cottage Park Yacht Club, they braved the heavy water traffic to see the floating works of art. They tell me there are more pictures to come. I’ll be sure to post them here and on our Codfish Gear Fan page on Facebook for you to check out! Take a note from this group of salty dogs and Put a Cod on Your Bod!

The Red Dog heading down wind during our 9th place finish!
This past weekend was the Rhodes 19 East Coast Championships at Hull Yacht Club in Hull, Mass. It was a fairly large sailing event with every type of weather you could think of. Day one started with clouds and the threat of thunderstorms and ended with sun and no wind. Day 2 was the craziest of all. Thick fog rolled in around 10 AM, and never let up. It would start to lift, and then come back even more thick. Somehow we still managed to sneak in 2 races and find our way home without running into an island or ferry. The final day brought clouds and some solid breezes.
I was fortunate enough to campaign The Red Dog from Cottage Park Yacht Club for the series, and had a lot of fun. Despite some break-downs that kept us out of racing the first day, we managed to earn some decent finishes with a 9th place one race and a 15th in the last race (out of a 30 boat fleet). It was a very competitive fleet, and now we know what to do to get better. Our spinnaker was easy to pick out as the proud pooch flew high every race we sailed. In addition to donning the Red Dog chute, I was also proud to sport my Codfish Gear throughout the whole series. The Cod Cap never left my head and the combination of Simply Cod and All American Cod T-shirts throughout the series certainly caught some eyes. You can see more photos from the series here.
