More than 30 boats ventured out to the Cottage Park Yacht Club on July 28 and 29, including the children of our very own Theresa McNamara. The event was a major success, and Theresa’s kids both did excellent in their first ever N-10 regatta. Theresa’s son Simon crewed for his friend Sam in boat 4232, ending up in 9th place overall. On top of that, Theresa’s daughter Cecilia co-skippered with her friend Kelsie in boat 4205, each sailing every other race. This group of novice ladies finished in 7th place. In addition, both girls were recognized with the Merryman Award for being the top skippers age 11 and under! The Merryman Award is a cup that goes back more than 60 years, and is a real honor to receive. Cecilia is even has a Cod on her Bod, wearing one of the Midget shirts created by Codfish Gear. Congratulations to everyone! Check out some photos from the event on our Facebook Fan Page
This week has been a busy one as we start to close out summer events and begin to move toward the fall school season. The N-10 Midget Regatta shirts were recently completed and will be used today and tomorrow as give-aways at the event, being hosted by the Cottage Park Yacht Club. Other items we have in production include the H-Class Championship polo shirts, the Boston College High School Arrupe Division Mentor Shirts, and some embroidery for the State Champion Boston College High School sailing team. The H-Class Championship is being hosted by The Buzzards Yacht Club and will be sailed on August 1-2. Contact us to find out how your group can get a Customized Cod, just like these groups!
Monday has come with some new projects. We launched a long term project with Ferrara Contracting of Winthrop, MA, to create a new company image and currently have lawn signs, magnetic signs, business cards and clothing for the crew in production. They are a great general contracting company in eastern Massachusetts.
As the summer starts, we are also diving into yacht club season, and are in the middle of a few projects of these nautical clubs. The t-shirts for the 15th annual Cottage Park Yacht Club/Make-a-Wish Regatta were just delivered and will be on sale at the club shortly. The proceeds from this event benefit the Make-a-Wish Foundation of Greater Boston. We have also been keeping active with Cottage Park’s youth sailing program, helping them again with their “Gave Wind” fundraiser. The program sells advertisements on the front and back of the shirt to raise money and give each youth sailor their own t-shirt. The shirts are on the presses now and will be completed soon. This is a great idea for any youth program. Feel free to contact us for more information on such a program.
Finally, we are working with The Buzzards Yacht Club on Cape Cod, MA to create a clothing line for its members. We are just starting on the order today, but it will feature a line of customized polo shirts and fleece vests, with hats and decals added shortly. In addition, you might seem the shortly on the Fish Market and be able to purchase them from the comfort of your own home.
These groups certainly know how to Put a Cod on Your Bod!
